LIFESTYLE

Crafting a bold music identity for Singapore's most art-forward lifestyle hotel

Mondrian Singapore Duxton was the brand's first Southeast Asian hotel, arriving in Duxton Hill's mix of colonial shophouses, art galleries and one of the city's most energetic dining and bar scenes. Recognised on 50 Best Discovery for its design and dynamic nightlife, it sets a different tone from Singapore's more conventional luxury addresses.

A sound as confident and tuned in as the hotel itself

Mondrian Singapore attracts a guest who is genuinely plugged in, to culture, to music, to the kind of places that are actively shaping a city's creative life.

We built a music identity with the same orientation, using underground selections with genuine cultural currency, then interpreted it differently across each F&B space. Christina's traces an arc from chilled instrumental grooves at opening to something warmer and smokier as the night deepens. Bottega di Carna carries Italian flamboyance and playful energy through the aperitivo hour. Jungle Ballroom, the hotel's neon-lit tropical cocktail bar, called for something altogether more visceral.

1970s Hollywood glamour reframed for a Singapore rooftop with city skyline views

Canyon Club sits at the top of the hotel, an infinity pool and bar with cabanas and views across the Singapore skyline.

The brief called for something inspired by Californian pool-party glamour, but remixed for a city with its own creative confidence and an international crowd. Cinematic instrumental tracks and warm vocals carry the opening hours, unhurried and sun-soaked in feel. Drawing on global influences as the pool fills and the sun drops over the skyline, the sound becomes fuller, more electronic and distinctly chic. By night, stylish disco elements lift the energy in a direction that can be as hedonistic as the occasion demands.
