LIFESTYLE

Brand sound from the neighbourhood for West London's most ambitious new lifestyle address

Mason & Fifth Westbourne Park is a 332-studio flexible stay destination on the Grand Union Canal, combining accommodation, Canal restaurant, The Grounding wellness club, and Meadow creative workspaces. Music is structural to the concept, and its cultural programme of events, artist collaborations and community gatherings sets it apart from conventional hospitality. Gilles Peterson DJed on top of washing machines in the laundrette for the opening party, whilst carnival dancers and steel drum bands strutted outdoors.

Five spaces, five distinct identities, one culturally coherent whole

We designed a different musical world for each environment, drawn from the same culture as the creative neighbourhoods of Notting Hill and Ladbroke Grove.

The reception and bar draw on Island Records’ heritage, rare groove and sound system culture alongside contemporary UK artists. Canal restaurant runs on Balearic attitude mixed with Mediterranean chic. The Grounding gym takes a more surprising direction, inspired by early 90s free party ambient house, a sound that has aged into genuine cult status among today’s switched-on Gen Z audience.
