LUXURY HOSPITALITY

Shaping a music philosophy for a ground-breaking contemporary luxury group

Rosewood is redefining what luxury hospitality can be - building a brand rooted in cultural discovery rather than inherited prestige and recognised consistently among the world's leading groups. Its "A Sense of Place" philosophy asks each property to reflect its location with real specificity: in architecture, programming, craft and experience. Music needed to operate at the same level.

An elegant woman in a black dress stands by a floor-to-ceiling window inside a luxury suite at the Rosewood Hong Kong. She holds a glass while looking out at Victoria Harbour and the prominent city skyline, with brown and white striped curtains framing the dramatic urban view.
A sun-drenched view of the luxury pool terrace at Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Mexico. White lounge chairs line the pool under the shade of a central palm tree, while a large ocean wave crashes against the beach in the background next to white stucco buildings and vibrant pink bougainvillea flowers.
A side view of a hotel doorman looking out into the cobblestone courtyard entrance of Rosewood London, seen through a glass door pane. The doorman stands with his hands clasped behind his back, wearing a classic tailored camel-colored overcoat, dark trousers, and brown leather shoes against a polished brown marble wall.

A consistent point of view, applied differently at every property

We worked with Rosewood to define a music philosophy capable of spanning a rapidly expanding global portfolio, with genuine local specificity at each property.

Across key openings we have been engaged from the pre-opening stage — working with both property and central teams to build an approach that reflects Rosewood's cultural intelligence: contemporary, specific, and credible for a guest who knows the difference.

A family of four sits around a long wooden table, sharing a meal on an outdoor terrace at Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid. A modern light fixture hangs overhead, and the background displays a panoramic, sun-drenched view of the historic Madrid cityscape at sunset.

Rosewood's first Japan property, rooted in its island setting

Set on an untouched peninsula on Miyakojima, Rosewood's first Japan property opened as an all-villa resort shaped entirely by its surroundings. Studio Piet Boon's design drew on Ryukyu limestone, local craftsmanship and Okinawan dialect for the villa names themselves, a brief built on cultural specificity. The music needed to answer the same brief. In the arrival spaces, we wove Okinawan melodic references into a broader, internationally credible palette, calm and unhurried in register. Across the restaurants and bars, each space received a distinct musical identity, from the Japanese and Okinawan textures of Choma to the cinematic Italian thread running through Nagi.

A group of guests enjoys an outdoor lunch under a canopy at the NAGI restaurant inside Rosewood Miyakojima. The shaded restaurant terrace overlooks a tranquil beach cove filled with turquoise "Miyako Blue" water, while modern, low-rise beach villas sit tucked among greenery across the white sand bay.

PERSPECTIVE

For every Rosewood property, we start with the same question: what makes this place unlike any other?
